Hey Guys!We know we know, it’s been a WHOLE YEAR, literally, since we’ve gotten a new post up on our blog but we’re looking to change that for 2017. Print Renegades has been growing and growing and we are SO busy (especially for the holidays) that posting on the blog has not been the priority that it should be. Now that we have a full time marketing and social media guy to assist in this, we will definitely be more up and out of our shells to bring you guys the new and improved Renegades!!Since last December, we have expanded our team to include some new faces to keep production in our shop running like a well-oiled machine and to make sure we stay active on social media and the web. We’ve got a new kick-ass DTG printer, the Epson F2000, that we’ve definitely been putting through its paces these last 12 months
For some, what is standard isn't good enough. That's what I realized when talking to the guys with Underground Alliance. Although these guys are a punk rock band, they naturally think outside the box of what is possible, and it really shows with what they are able to call "merch" for their band.As we were talking about their band shirts for their upcoming show on the Warped Tour in LA, they asked what would happen if I printed as many different prints onto a Tshirt as we could, and then they could cut them out and use as patches. Wonderful idea!!These turned out really cool, worked great for the style of their brand, and the best part was that it was so cheap because we chose to use a 3XL sized shirt to print these, and we were able to squeeze a lot of patches out of one single shirt, given its massive
The fashion industry is always a full season ahead of the rest of the world. This is shown through the biggest fashion trade show in the world, Magic/Pool/Project trade shows in Las Vegas, they happen twice a year (Feb and Aug) and each trade show is for the season that they are currently in but ONE YEAR ahead (Feb is the fall show, Aug is the spring show). This system requires independent brands to keep up with this by coming out very early with their lines to impress buyers. As screen printers, because of this, we are usually printing tank tops in the dead winter, and long sleeved hoodies in the heat of summer. Some people who see this wonder "Who could possibly be ordering something so late", but this is due to the trends that are in place. We recently printed some tank tops for a really rad Canadian brand, RBLTG, out of Regina
For the release of their Winter line for Risk Vs Reward Clothing, they had a bunch of new designs they were releasing at this years Unique LA craft fair in Downtown LA and really need to find the right printer to really nail each and every design. The owner, Dean, is very particular about the sizing of each image, the inks used, the colors of each design and making sure that every single element is paid attention to and no corners are cut.Enter Print Renegades. Not only did we nail each of the designs, but we did it in record time, spending a few 18 hour days completing the designs so that they could ALL be ready for the start of the show on Saturday. Although it was rigorous and very difficult to work such long hours, the gratification that each of the designs brought as we completed them began to be the
Dip Dye Tshirts is quickly becoming a trend in the fashion world. The fact that they are handmade, created with pantone colors that are chosen by the designer, and create a cool unique feel are all reasons why we print so many of them.Recently the band Poolside had us create their first run of merch for their upcoming tour. We made Tshirts and tote bags, both dip dyed specially to the colors that the band selected. Then we printed a simple one color print over top of them. They turned out very cool, and since then I have seen them being worn by people around the city!
Alex Ebert and his lively band of 11 mates (also known as Edward Sharpe) have been touring non stop for a few years now, and are finally just about to take a break. We were fortunate enough to be able to print ALL their merch for the last tour they just embarked on, and it was a really great experience. We printed on a wide variety of goods from Tshirts, Womens shirts, hoodies and even interesting crop tops and muscle tank tops. Here are a few shots of the Tshirt that we printed for them, which ended up turning out quite interestingly. This was originally a photograph that we converted into a 6 color simulated process print, and we went to town with high opacity plastisol inks for great coverage and a bright poppy final product. They were stoked, and so were we. Were excited for the next design that Alex comes up with
